Challenge

For the 2021 challenge, one parameter has to be predicted from near infrared spectra. The CALIBRATION set contains 1066 spectra and the VALIDATION set 993. The CALIBRATION set contains the spectra of fruits scanned between 300 – 1100 nm acquired with a single instrument (instr_1). The Y references values are in column C in the CALSET sheet of the provided excel file. The VALIDATION set contains spectra from 7 instruments of the same brand (from instr_1 to instr_7). A code identifies the instruments.  The third sheet (STD_SETS) contains 245 spectra/instrument coming from the 7 instruments on the same fruits. All the data can be retrieved in the 3 sheets (called CALSET, VALSET and STD_SETS) of the xlsx file :  Challenge.xlsx

The criterion to choose the best results will be the RMSEP on the VALIDATION set. 

The participants are invited to send their results (1 solution and 1 vector of 993 values in a TXT or Excel file) to Pierre Dardenne at dardennepaj(at)gmail.com by the Saturday 30th of January midnight. The participants will join a short PPT or DOC file with their methodology. The participants with the best results will be asked to present their results during the meeting in 5-10 minutes depending of the number of answers.
